A big part of our commitment to ‘Building Futures Together’ means a real commitment to ‘succession planning’ and internal promotion. Everyone within the Barratt Group, without exception, has access to training and the chance to build their career with us.
Ours is a performance-led culture which welcomes ideas and recognises achievements. If you’ve got something extra, we’ll see it and encourage it. We look for initiative, so there’s plenty of chance to explore your talents and take part in new experiences.
As well as ‘on-the-job’ development, we offer formal training courses for everyone - and in everything from the customer experience through to leadership. Here’s a taster of what training opportunities could be open to you:
Benchmark - Our Induction Programme
Benchmark ensures that all new starters in our business receive the same welcome, the same information and the same opportunity for a full and complete induction regardless of role. It is an activity based induction programme designed to provide all that the individual needs during their first few weeks within the Barratt Group. Benchmark has two key elements; Part one contains generic activities that will introduce a new starter to Barratt through our corporate Induction day. Part two focuses on the new role and the specific knowledge and skills needed to do the job. A specific induction plan is used as a guide to ensure all areas are covered.
Barratt Academy
Combining professional training (on site and in the classroom) with industry-recognised qualifications, our courses aim to deliver us craft and trade specialists, site managers and people with specialist technical and commercial knowledge.
Customer Service & Sales Training
We have a programme of courses designed to support our sales advisers in understanding the procedures, policies and regulatory frameworks involved in the process, develop their skills and techniques in pro-active selling and gaining commitment from their clients. We also ensure that the experienced Sales Adviser is focussed on the key elements of the role that have a direct impact on profitability and preparing them to develop into a coaching role. To support Sales Managers in their role we provide them with the training they need on how best to manage a new development from start to finish. We also have a Customer Service procedure which helps align all of our colleagues into thinking about the customer throughout the build process.
