Get Recognised
‘Get Recognised’ is our approach to recognising the effort that really makes a difference to our key business priorities: cash, profit, quality, cost, sales and customer service.
The idea is to encourage and reward excellence, improve our operational effectiveness and promote commitment and energy in our people. Above all, we want to show just how much we appreciate the hard work of our teams and give something back.
There are two types of recognition that make up the scheme:
Structured Recognition through quarterly, annual and national awards.
These awards include the highly respected NHBC Pride in the Job scheme and formal recognition awards for the following categories:
- Site Manager
- Sales Adviser
- Apprentice
- Individual Excellence
- Team Excellence
Awards under this area include cash awards up to the Supreme Award of £5,000, experience awards such as sailing or racing experiences and other various cash payments.
Instant Recognition.
The Instant Recognition Award allows colleagues to show immediate appreciation for a job well done.
Via a scratch card the prizes include a range of exciting experiences, shopping vouchers, or a choice of gift options such as flowers, wine and hampers or you may win a "day off".
Awards
Recognition of our employees is not just about cash and prizes.
Barratt Developments has been named "Housebuilder of the Year" 2011 at the industry's most prestigious annual awards ceremony.
Together with our 5 Star housebuilder status and 112 NHBC "Pride in the Job" Awards so far this year, it's yet more proof that we are the nation's leading housebuilder.
Our Group People and Customer Experience Director, Jayne Mee was winner of the Personnel Today, HR Director of the Year Award 2009 and our Talent Team won a National Training Award for our Leadership Programmes. We are delighted that we have been shortlisted in the final 6 for two
categories for the Personnel Today Awards 2010 for the Employee Engagement Award and the Reward and Benefits Award.
Following the launch of our Barratt Academy, we have won the Apprenticeships Large Employer of the year Award for the East Midlands Region and the National Highly Commended Award for Large Employer of the year at the National Apprenticeship Service Awards 2011.
We have also won a number of other prestigious awards including Sustainability Awards 2008, House Building Innovation Awards 2008 and 2009, and Building for Life Awards 2008. This is to name but a few!
