“I began my law career in-house with David Wilson Homes before leaving to spend 5 years in private practice. I came back a year ago to join Barratt Homes, partly because I knew the sector and trusted the Barratt brand, but mainly because of the work and where the business was heading – and that’s to become the market leader.
As one of the ‘Top 10 National Housebuilders’, the challenges are considerable. It’s a commercially focussed, fast-moving business, and I know that the work I do adds real value to the bottom line. That makes me feel more involved. As for the future, Barratt is always looking to grow and improve, and that’s pretty much what I’m aiming for too. The other thing I enjoy is the culture. It’s hardworking, but very professional and friendly. Everyone seems to have a positive mental attitude to work, and it really rubs off.”
