The Apprentice Programme - and the other programmes in the Academy - are open to ambitious people aged 16+. We've put a lot into the programmes, and we expect a lot in return, so you must be prepared to commit to hard work and study. Equally important is your potential and personality, because we're looking for the very best talent to develop. So, bearing in mind the studying you'll have to do and responsibility we'll give you, you'll need to be ambitious with plenty of energy and initiative.
Trade Apprenticeship and Technical Advanced Apprenticeship Programmes
For our trade apprentices, there's a lot of working outside, helping build houses while learning your trade, so you'll need to be good with your hands and happy to work in all weathers. For our technical apprentices, you’ll be working with a variety of people on-site and in offices, so you’ll need to be good with people as well as having a real interest in technical issues. For any of our apprentice vacancies, there's plenty of studying to be done too, so you'll need to be willing to continue your learning in an exciting and challenging environment.
Assistant Site Manager and Site Manager Programme
You'll either need to have come through the first 2 years of our Apprentice Programme or, if not, have an NVQ Level 3 and/or on-site experience of either a trade or site management. The ability to deal effectively with customers and people - not to mention ever changing priorities - is also vital, so we're looking for confident, outgoing individuals with strong organisational ability.
Technical & Commercial Programme
There's plenty of studying, so we're looking for hard-working and ambitious educational 'achievers', which means ideally 5 GCSEs, right up to ONC/HND or degree level. You'll also need the ability to deal equally effectively with numbers and with a wide range of people (on-site and in offices). We also look for commercial know-how - which means you've got a real instinct for business matters.
