We want people to feel part of their surroundings – not just by building homes which ‘look right’, but by supporting other sustainable initiatives which help create vibrant new communities. We do this by regenerating areas of existing housing and land that would otherwise not be used. We encourage the employment of local people and suppliers as much as possible, and we support local charities.
Similarly, in every development we work constructively with our housing association partners to make sure that some of our housing is affordable to people on lower incomes. Importantly we also talk and listen to local people affected by our developments, carrying out an extensive programme of consultations.
